Webb, Yastrzemski, Duggar power Giants past Rockies 12-3

DENVER (AP) — Logan Webb pitched effectively for seven innings, Mike Yastrzemski homered and Steve Duggar had two triples among his three hits as the NL West-leading San Francisco Giants beat the Colorado Rockies 12-3 Tuesday night.

Brandon Crawford added three hits and an RBI. All of Duggar’s hits went for extra bases and he drove in three runs. Yastrzemski added a run-scoring single in the ninth, finishing with three RBIs and helping San Francisco to its fifth win in six games.

C.J. Cron had an RBI double for Colorado. Pinch-hitter Joshua Fuentes and Rio Ruiz added RBI singles.

The homer was Yastrzemski’s 22nd of the season, marking a career best and a team high for the Giants, who have an NL-leading 207 home runs this season. The homer total is the highest since the Giants hit a franchise-record 235 homers in 2001.

The Giants hit Rockies starter Chi Chi Gonzalez (3-7) hard from the outset, tagging him for five runs on eight hits before being lifted in favor of Ashton Goudeau with one out in the...
